Review: Greetings again from the darkness. Great literature rarely make great cinema. The environments are very different. However, great literature, in the right hands can make for very entertaining film. This is the case of Guy Ritchie's interpretation of the largest character.Mr Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Ritchie gives us a nice departure from Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce Holmes and Watson. Here you will get amazing special effects and almost super-human acts and acrobatics. Another breakthrough is that this is not boring Holmes meticulously picky in real life. In fact, he lives more like a frat boy or rock star - room full of crisis has destroyed isolation.What Holmes lacks the attention to detail is world class. The story here is actually multi-layered and interesting, if not a little 'high-minded and high-concept. Still under construction Tower Bridge plays a role in the film and the bleakness and gray of London is captured perfectly.Of Of course, we do not disclose details about the story, except to tell the good guys are out to get a real bad guy, great guy here ... always played solid Mark Strong, who may or may not be dead. Jude Law is often too pretty-boy for me, but he does a nice job of capturing the reluctant partner with the house skills.This is a great movie! It 'made to be a rollicking good time with tons of popcorn ate. Younger children will not be able to follow the story, but anyone who has read a Holmes story (and not against a little artistic license), you should see the movie. It 's very entertaining and fun to watch.
