Review: I went into this movie knowing that this is the second film in history to win the top five Oscars (best picture, best actor, best actress, best director and best screenplay) and was hailed as one of the best Jack Nicholsons roles and one of the classics of the 70 's. Of course, after hearing all this, I had high expectations for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. But still, I was surprised how easy movie exceeded my expectations and easily led me to understand that he deserves all praise.Based of Ken Kesey's novel is the story follows Randle Patrick McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), who tried to get more time in jail, madness prays for his crime, and therefore was sentenced to time in a mental institution. It is intended McMurphys saying that madhouse conditions will be much easier to fight than other harsh sentence. However, it was soon learned that the surviving institution with its desolate patients (including Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito, Vincent Schiavelli and Brad Dourif absolutely brilliant as the stammering Billy Bibbit) and monstrously repressive Nurse Ratchet (Louise Fletcher, career and decisive role) is significantly harder than I imagined. McMurphy plays pranks, horseplay, and generally defiant policies of the institution in an attempt to lift the mood. His constant optimism and reckless defiance of outdated rules in this institution can be very attractive, and often quite funny as well, but much of the film is very depressing - largely neglected state institutions is consistently (and intentionally) bleak excellent background story with a really bitter ending.Jack Nicholson is best here, head and shoulders above the rest excellent performance, such as Chinatown or as good as it gets. McMurphy is apparently insatiable optimist, refusing to succumb to the defeated spirit of all other patients. His antics LiveWire, inspiring patients usually Uplifting, and when his indomitable spirit is finally broken, I really feel for him and his fellow patients. Nicholson conveys the essence of McMurphy to perfection, demonstrating their superior understanding and interpretation of the character. When McMurphy announces that it will raise a large stone fountain and throw it out the window to escape, the other patients are so caught up in the spirit of freedom of action that they honestly believe they can do it, regardless of the fact that it will be impossible for a man much stronger than him. When McMurphy finally reveals that, despite his best efforts, he can not raise the fountain, he is so openly break it we can not help but feel for him. Under frequent swearing and LiveWire antics, there are real human emotions that come across as real touching. What can say about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which is not already said? It has a great story, superb acting, painfully dark visuals, perfectly setting the tone for the film, and switch between real speed devastatingly depressed. There are perhaps most memorable movie ending ever, next to a man in his horse into the sunset, and leaves the viewer overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, unaware of what they think of the picture despite enjoying its glorious entirety. And hard on the final outcome was better than this.-10/10
