Review: Martin Scorsese and Robert De Nero deliver another strong, bold urban classic of its longstanding collaboration as director and star. De Niro plays a Vietnam veteran who works as a taxi driver, who becomes obsessed with clean politics and crime in their city. He becomes increasingly paranoid and crazy as the movie continues. The other stars of the film all give excellent performances as realistic people with whom he comes into contact with the city. This film is disturbing and terrifying, but it certainly should be seen as one of the classics of all time. You should also check other Scorsese works like Raging Bull and Goodfellas. |
